SUMMER MISSIONS INFORMATION & DATES

Peru Summer Missions

HMCC-AA is sending a young adult team of 9 to work with missionary Monica and the Tabernacle church from June 16-30. The first week, they will help with manual labor around the church as well as focus on building greater relationships with the church members.

The second week, they will join with TRPC in doing a medical outreach in the city of San Pedro. They will also be holding evening services for the local church there throughout the two weeks. TRPC will be there from June 22-July

July 5-August 2 three AMI churches will work together in Peru. GCC is sending a team of 9 college students, JCA is sending 6 college students, and RWC is sending a team of 6. They will be working with Pastor Willer and Monica of la Iglesia Tabernaculo and share God’s love with believers and unbelievers in the villages of San Marcos and San Pedro.

Mexico Summer Missions

Church of Southland and Kairos Christian Church are sending a team of 6 to work with Pastor Ryun Chang in Chihuahua, Mexico. They will hold a Children’s Vacation Bible School and do street evangelism from June 30 - July 9.

Chester, Pennsylvania Inner City Summer Missions

East Africa Summer Missions

GCC and JCA are working together to send out teams to East Africa July 2-August 2. GCC will send a team of 5 college students & young adults and JCA will send 2 pastors and 16 college students & young adults to East Africa July 2-August 2. Their stay in Kenya will take them from the “big city” of Nairobi, to the bush land area of the Maasai tribe, all the way to the tropical area of Arusha in Tanzania. They’ll experience a variety of missions work; see the needs of people from another culture; and interact with missionaries and other local workers. The teams will participate in local church ministries, open air evangelism, and children’s Vacation Bible School.

Southeast Asia Summer Missions

Three AMI churches will work together in a Southeast Asian country to work with a missionary and teach English to local students. Church of Southland will send a team of 5 people to teach July 6-21 with a team of 3 from JCA. Then from July 20-August 4, RWC will send a team of 8 people to continue working with the local students teaching English.

Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, Ohio Inner City Summer Missions

This summer, GCC and Kairos Christian Church are sending teams to the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Over-the-Rhine has a vibrant African-American community, but it also faces poverty, violent crime and open-air drug trade. The team will be partnering with Pastor Paul and Pastor Johann who have been working in this area as lay evangelists for over 10 years. The teams will be going to bless their efforts and learn more about how to share Christ's love in the inner city. The teams will also share the love of Christ with those in OTR through Vacation Bible School, open air ministry, street evangelism, and service projects to help local residents from July 19 - 28.

Asia Summer Missions

HMCC-AA is sending an undergraduate team to Asia from July 4-31. During the first two weeks, the team will work with university students doing a cultural exchange. During the last part of their trip to Asia, they will work with an AMI missionary and minister to the group he leads.

Church of Southland is sending a team of 7 women to teach fast-pitch softball to a university team that an AMI missionary plays for from July 12-24. They will teach, practice, and prepare the university team for a softball tournament while building relationships with the students.

HMCC of Chicago and Ann Arbor is sending a team of 13 (8 from Ann Arbor and 5 from Chicago) to an Asian country from July 3 - August 2. This will be HMCC of Chicago’s first mission trip since its inception back in September 2006. They will be ministering in two locations within the same country. They will be partnering with a local missionary in ministering to the women and children from the red light district in one region. In another region, they will be partnering with another local missionary in ministering at a seminary and the local church plants in the area. This is HMCC’s second trip to India and we hope to strengthen our relationship with the missionaries and make further contacts with other leaders.

Japan Summer Missions

RWC will be sending 2 teams to Japan to teach English and lead worship ministries. The first team will be going from July 20 - August 5 and the second team will be going from July 20 - August 12.
